To Give and to Get, Lithuania

Labas! I would like to send you my warm greetings from rainy Lithuania, where I have been doing my EVS for 2 months already. My project relates to social work with young people (12 to 18 years old) from difficult social background. We are cooking together, playing various board games, doing homework. The main aim of the project is to make youth more social, to develop their talents.

Also sometimes we go hiking and make movie night or organize tournament from board-football. On Friday there is open space „SOFKĖ“: everybody can come to our center, decide what to do and have a good time! Organization supports any initiatives and gives a space for it.

I love living in Vilnius, it is not as big as Kyiv, but there are a lot of cultural events and attractive places. In September I visited impressing music and cinema festivals and interesting museums. During October I with my friends, amazing volunteers from Armenia and Spain, have visited other Baltic capitals - Riga and Tallinn.

Communication is important part in my project. We have classes of Lithuanian language and I am very motivated to learn it! Despite the fact that Lithuanian is complicated language, our teacher is fascinating: she uses non-standard methods; we play a lot and absorb information with pleasure.

I believe next months of my life here will be full of new ideas, projects and people!
