Place: Hammelburg, Germany
Type: European Voluntary Service
During 10 months, the volunteer will discover pedagogy and didactics of open work with children in Germany. This includes researching, planning and organizing different activities as well as the physical support, taking care of kids and of course playing with them.
The volunteer will support the daily activities with kids, art activities, sports and different games. Depending on the own interests of the volunteer there are plenty of possibilities to spend time with children in a creative and active way.
He/she should enjoy being around kids and be as energetic and open minded as possible. As they will be managing some activities on their own/with other volunteers, they should act in a reliable and responsible way.
The main activities will consist generally in helping with the group work:

The hosting organization has coordinated many other EVS projects in the region. You can read about their activities here.
Here is a video from the kindergarten showing a bit the place and the work.
The age limit for the volunteer is 18-30 years. The profile of the volunteers is not strongly limited and is open for all people who would like to work with small kids. In that reason, the main requirement is the readiness to work with young kids, starting with the age of 1.5 years. Volunteers must be ready to spend their days amongst kids and help them with everyday activities.
The project is funded by the Erasmus+ Program. All expenses for visa, insurance, accommodation, food and international travel costs are fully covered. The volunteer will also receive pocket money monthly. Three volunteers will share a flat together in Hammelburg.
